Artbeat Studio, Inc. is a non-profit arts organization. We provide studio space and related supports for artists/consumers of mental health services. Participating artists are encouraged to express themselves freely, meanwhile, overcoming the barriers set by the stigma towards mental health present in our society. We rely on volunteers who appreciate this stance to support our programming. We request that all volunteers provide:
- A completed Artbeat Studio Volunteer Application
- A personal resume that lists any experience you have in the arts and working with consumers of mental health services. Please indicate which volunteer role you prefer.
- A minimum commitment of 6 months (coinciding with the program period), we prefer four consecutive hour shifts during studio operating hours (10:00am – 6:00pm, Tuesday-Friday, 11:00am – 3:00pm Saturday ) on a weekly basis.
- A “criminal record check” (available at the Public Safety Building on William Ave. This will cost approx. $13.00)
Prior to applying, a personal tour of the Artbeat Studio facility is strongly recommended. At this time a consultation with the Volunteer Coordinator will be conducted. Please call to schedule a tour and interview, which will take approximately 45 minutes.
