Jodi Griffith and Eric Gluck may farm for different reasons, but they share a love of the land they care for just north of Lowe Farm, where they grow organically-certified fruit and vegetables, as well as, pulse and cereal crops. Having grown up on the same property, Eric’s memories illustrate the dramatic changes family farming has gone through in his lifetime of thirty-six years: “When we farmed, there used to be a farmer on almost every half-section – we could all see each other across the road. Now, where there were six farms, there is only one.” His dad, who grows 1800 acres of crops in partnership with Eric, reflected as well: “you could see a light on each field – now, when you’re out there, you’re on your own.”
