Recovery: Hope Changes Everything video features Nigel Bart and family

June 10, 2015

Presented by the Manitoba Schizophrenia Society, a new educational video features Nigel Bart (Artbeat Studio, Studio Facilitator and Founder) and his family.

This video seeks to promote a conversation about what recovery is and what are the marks of a recovery–oriented mental health system. Recovery-oriented practice emphasizes hope, social inclusion, acceptance, choice, community participation, personal goal setting, and self-determination.

While recovery is owned by and unique to each individual, mental health services have an important role in creating an environment that supports, and does not interfere with, people’s recovery efforts. The ultimate goal is quality of life and social inclusion for those living with a mental health problem, illness, or languishing mental health. [hr]
