Uyen’s excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills were developed and honed through nearly 15 years of working in the nonprofit sector as an Accountant’s Assistant, Programs Manager, and Executive Assistant prior to coming to Artbeat. No stranger to wearing multiple hats, Uyen dons what’s necessary to aide in the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization to better serve its community and the health of its members.

Uyen earned her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, double majoring in Marketing and Human Resources Management. In her free time, Uyen enjoys trying new and different restaurants, exploring new countries, playing soccer, and spending time with family and friends.

What inspires your creative expression?

I was drawn to Realism as a kid, drawing still life in grade school and poring over small details to make sure I’ve got them all to make my picture as life-like as possible. Now, my creativeness is inspired by Anime, which is largely characterized by colourful graphics, vibrant characters, and fantastical themes – which is how I like to view my surroundings: brightly coloured filled with cool and complex beings with imagination to bring forth a better world.

Austin holds a Bachelor of Music with a minor in Sociology from Brandon University. His academic background reflects a deep curiosity about both artistic expression and the way societies function. With a strong passion for social equity and community engagement, Austin was drawn to Artbeat Studio’s mission of supporting underrepresented voices through the arts.

What inspires your creative expression? I have always been drawn to jazz music. One musician that stands out to me is Sonny Rollins his ability to blend a variety of sounds makes his music truly captivating. During my undergrad studies in music, I developed a deeper appreciation for jazz and discovered a renewed love for the genre.

Oli graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Environmental Design. While they have long time had a passion for art, their studies allowed them to develop their design skills further. With an interest in photography, video production, graphic design, drawing, painting, and more, she uses her experience in various disciplines to contribute to many projects and ventures.

Over the years, Oli has spent time working and volunteering at various community organizations. With this experience, she has found value in interacting with and supporting different communities. Oli’s most prominent values are Kindness, Art, and Growth, and they intend to uphold these values with active efforts.
