Artbeat Studio on CTV: Beating the Winter Blues with Creativity

This winter, Artbeat Studio was featured on CTV Morning Live to share ways creativity can help lift our mood during the colder months.

Art and creativity can be powerful tools for improving mental health and well-being. At Artbeat Studio, we see every day how making art helps people slow down, express themselves, and find connection with others.

Throughout the morning, several Artbeat artists and staff members joined the show to demonstrate their creative processes and talk about how art helps them navigate the winter blues.

Executive Director Uyen Pham kicked off the morning by talking about the connection between creativity and mental health. She shared how making art can help people process emotions, reduce stress, and create a sense of purpose and connection, especially during the long winter months.

Artists-in-Residence Studio Manager, Lisa Obirek, shared her artwork and creative process, showing how creating can be both relaxing and empowering. Through this program, Lisa talks about how creativity can combat isolation.

At Artbeat Studio, creativity is more than just making art—it’s about connection, self-expression, and well-being. We’re grateful to CTV and CTV Morning Live for highlighting the powerful role creativity can play in supporting mental health.

If you’re looking for a way to beat the winter blues, try picking up a paintbrush, a pencil, or any creative tool that inspires you. Sometimes the simple act of making something can bring warmth, joy, and a little light to the season.
